850-Year Celebration and Schweriner Gartensommer are waiting for you!

Following the success of the Bundesgartenschau (Federal Horticultural Exhibition) in 2009, the city of Schwerin is celebrating it’s 850th year not only with an anniversary celebration, but is also offering guests many interesting events within the framework of the  Schweriner Gartensommers right into the month of September. The motto of this event is “Natur, die inspiriert. Kultur, die fasziniert“ (Nature that inspires. Culture that fascinates). 

Active in the community

Managing Director Kerstin Voigt is involved on a voluntary basis as regional chairman of the Osteuropa-Freundschaftsgesellschaft Mecklenburg-Vorpommern e.V. (an association which promotes inter-cultural interaction between Germany and Eastern Europe). She is also on the board of trustees of a similar organisation, the  Stiftung West-Östliche Begegnungen. The Osteuropa-Freundschaftsgesellschaft is part of the Bundesverband Deutscher West-Ost-Gesellschaften and has for many years actively supported the initiative  "WIR. Erfolg braucht Vielfalt" (a campaign to encourage tolerance and diversity).
Managing Director Natalia Jentzsch is a member of the board of directors of FiM - Frauen im Management Schwerin (Women in Management Schwerin) and is involved in the work of the Freunde des Staatlichen Museums Schwerin (Friends of the Schwerin State Museum)
